+ Helmut Koester (1926-2016)

Έφυγε πλήρης ημερών ο γνωστός ομότιμος καθηγητής της Καινής Διαθήκης και του Αρχέγονου Χριστιανισμού στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Harvard, Helmut Koester. O Koester υπήρξε μαθητής του Rudolf Bultmann στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Marburg μετά το τέλος του Β΄ Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου το 1945 και στη συνέχεια από το 1954 έως το 1956 διετέλεσε βοηθός του καθηγητή Günther Bornkamm στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Heidelberg. Από το 1958 κι έως τη συνταξιοδότησή ήταν καθηγητής στη Harvard Divinity School. Διετέλεσε επίσης πρόεδρος της SBL (1991), μέλος της SNTS και της American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Υπήρξε, τέλος, εκδότης για πολλά χρόνια του περιοδικού Harvard Theological Review και της σειράς υπομνημάτων Hermeneia. Mεταξύ των γνωστών του έργων συγκαταλέγονται: Synoptische Überlieferung bei den Apostolischen Vätern (TU 65; Berlin 1957), Introduction to the New Testament: History and Literature of Early Christianity (2000), Paul & His World: Interpreting the New Testament in its Context (2007) και From Jesus to the Gospels: Interpreting the New Testament in its Context (2007).

Το 2015 μας αποχαιρέτησε με μία ακόμη απώλεια ενός σημαντικού Φινλανδού καινοδιαθηκολόγου,  ομότιμου καθηγητή της ΚΔ στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Ελσίνκι, Heikki Räisänen. Διετέλεσε καθηγητής της Καινής Διαθήκης του Πανεπιστήμιου του Ελσίνκι κατά τα έτη 1975-2006, research professor της Ακαδημίας της Φινλανδίας κατά τα έτη 1984-1994 και καθηγητής της ίδιας Ακαδημίας κατά τα έτη 2001-2006. Υπήρξε επίσης διευθυντής του Centre of Excellence της Ακαδημίας στο διάστημα 1995-2005. Υπήρξε ένας από τους πλέον γνωστούς θεολόγους της Φινλανδίας με διεθνή αναγνώριση και τιμήθηκε από διάφορους διεθνείς οργανισμούς.

Ο Räisänen ήταν ένας εξαιρετικά παραγωγικός συγγραφέας κι η έρευνά του καλύπτει ένα ευρύ φάσμα θεμάτων της ερμηνείας και θεολογίας της Καινής Διαθήκης; ευαγγέλια, Παύλος και τη θρησκεία του Αρχέγονου Χριστιανισμού. 

Το έργο του προκάλεσε συχνά αντιδράσεις και κριτική καθώς σε αυτό ο Räisänen  αμφισβήτησε συχνά παραδοσιακές θέσεις της καινοδιαθηκικής ερμηνείας. Επιπλέον, στο πλαίσιο του διαθρησκειακού διαλόγου ασχολήθηκε κριτικά με το Κοράνιο.
