Μια ενδιαφέρουσα ανακάλυψη στο Herculaneum / An interesting discovery in Herculaneum

Στην ιστοσελίδα ANE Today ο Pier Paolo Petrone (Πανεπιστήμιο της Νάπολης) ανακοινώνει την ανακάλυψη ενός υαλοποιημένου ανθρώπινου εγκεφάλου στα ερείπια της αρχαίας πόλης του Herculaneum, η οποία σκεπάστηκε από τη λάβα και την τέφρα του Βεζουβίου το 79 μ.Χ. Το μακάβριο αυτό εύρημα, μοναδικό στο είδος του, συνδέεται με έναν σκελετό που εντοπίστηκε το 1969 στο κτίριο του Collegium Augustalium, ο οποίος εικάζεται ότι ανήκει σε άνδρα 20 περίπου ετών, ο οποίος μάλλον ήταν ο φύλακας του κτιρίου.
