Είναι επιτακτικό επομένως να αναπτυχθούν διαπολιστιμικοί τρόποι κατανόησής τους προκειμένου να κατανοηθούν οι αξίες της αρχαίας μεσογειακής κοινωνίας μέσα από την οποία προήλθε η Κ.Δ. προκειμένου να εκτιμήσει κανείς πληρέσετες τα κείμενα και τις κοινότητες που αυτά αντιπροσωπεύουν. Το μοντέλο της ταυτότητας στο εσωτερικό της ομάδας

Συνεχίζοντας τα ενδιαφέροντα άρθρα του για την κοινωνική ταυτότητα ο J.C. Baker δημοσίευσε πριν από λίγο ένα ακόμη κείμενο, το οποίο αυτήν τη φορά ασχολείται με το μοντέλο της κοινής ταυτότητας μέσα στην ομάδα (Common Ingroup Identity Model), το οποίο προτάθηκε από τον Samuel Gaertner. Παραθέτω τα όσα γράφει ο J.C. για αυτό το μοντέλο:

"Rather than eliminating the boundaries altogether, Gaertner et al. suggested that boundaries should be redrawn to bring the two identities into one superordinate identity so that ingroupers and outgroupers recognize their commonality and view one another as members of the same group."
