H ερμηνεία της Αποκάλυψης από τον Ανδρέα Καισαρείας / Andrew of Caesarea and the Apocalypse

Δύο αξιόλογα ιστολόγια

Στον κατάλογο των biblioblogs (αριστερά) προσθέσαμε δύο αξιόλογα βιβλικά ιστολόγια:

Το ιστολόγιο του καθηγητή της Παλαιάς Διαθήκης ΑΠΘ, Μιλτιάδη Κωνσταντίνου, Βίβλος και Οικουμένη / Bible and Ecumene και το ιστολόγιο του λέκτορα της Καινής Διαθήκης ΑΠΘ, Μόσχου Γκουτζιούδη, Θεολογικά Δρώμενα.

Η μακρά σιωπή / The long silence

Zητώ συγνώμη από τους τακτικούς αναγνώστες του ιστολογίου μου για τη μακρά σιωπή των τελευταίων ημερών. Οφείλεται στον υπερβολικό φόρτο εργασίας. Τα πράγματα τώρα είναι λίγο καλύτερα, οπότε ελπίζω ότι η τακτική ροή ειδήσεων από το βιβλικό χώρο θα επανέλθει.

My apologies to the faithful and regular readers of my blog, which was due to the heavy programme of the last days. Since things are now going better, I hope that the regular feeding of biblical news will be restored.

O Jim West για τα βιβλικά ιστολόγια / Jim West on biblioblogs

Ένα σύντομο και πολύ ενδιαφέρον κείμενο του Jim West για την παρουσία των βιβλικών ιστολογίων στο διαδίκτυο και τη σπουδαιότητά τους έχει αναρτηθεί στην ιστοσελίδα του The Bible and Interpretation. O συγγραφέας ξεκινά από το γεγονός ότι οι λεγόμενοι bibliobloggers έχουν αποκτήσει τη δική τους ομάδα εργασίας στο πλαίσιο της SBL και παρατηρεί ότι αυτή η εξέλιξη αντικατοπτρίζει το γεγονός ότι τα βιβλικά ιστολόγια έχουν γίνει ένα σημαντικός παράγοντας διάχυσης σε ένα ευρύτερο αναγνωστικό κοινό των πορισμάτων της βιβλικής έρευνας.

Παρατηρεί μάλιστα τα εξής, τα οποία παραθέτω αυτούσια από το κείμενο:

"Blogging the Bible is the best way for scholars to get scholarship to the mass of consumers. Scholars can and should write journal articles in peer reviewed journals. They should publish excruciatingly detailed tomes that only a few other experts in the same field will ever read. They should meet at conferences and hear papers and interact and learn and grow professionally and intellectually. Likewise, they should write “popularizing” books targeted for the wider public. And finally they should, and I would suggest must, also attend to their duties as the disseminators of publicly consumable biblical scholarship for people who will not, or cannot, read extensive treatments. This is not to suggest that they dumb down their ideas, scholars should clarify, not reduce. But, scholars should also understand that anything that can't be explained in some clear fashion, so that the majority of people can understand it, may become an exercise in self-importance, not true scholarship.
Scholarship, it seems to me, must always be aware of its audience. And communication of said scholarship means dissemination."

Άρθρο των Boer και Kelso στο νέο The Bible and Critical Theory

Ευχαριστώ τον Jim West (thank you Jim!) για την ευγενική υπόδειξη στο εισαγωγικό άρθρο των Roland Boer και Julie Kelso. Σε αυτό γίνεται αναφορά στο φαινόμενο και τη σημασία των ιστολογίων που ασχολούνται με τις βιβλικές σπουδές (biblioblogs).

Παραθέτουμε την τελευταία παράγραφο με κάποιες σκέψεις για τον καλύτερο τρόπο λειτουργίας ενός τέτοιου ιστολογίου:

"What I like best about blogs is that they carry on discussions with people from anywhere in the world on matters biblical (or anything else for that matter). You don’t have to wait for conferences, or put up with colleagues/friends/significant others whose views you know anyway. But if you are planning a blog, make sure you say what you want to say succinctly and clearly. A few swear words can help, but only if it’s you. And regular posts help."
