Η αρχαιότερη παράσταση ενός θαύματος του Ιησού / The very first depiction of a miracle by Jesus

Στην ηλεκτρονική εφημερίδα Aleteia ο Daniel Esparza παρουσιάζει την αρχαιότερη παράσταση θαύματος του Ιησού, της θεραπείας του παραλυτικού στην Καπερναούμ (Μκ 2,1-12). Προέρχεται από την εκκλησία των μ. 3ου αι. στην Dura Europos. H παράσταση -η οποία μαζί με τις υπόλοιπες από τον ίδιο αρχαιολογικό χώρο βρίσκονται σήμερα στην Πινακοθήκη του Πανεπιστημίου του Yale- στόλιζε κάποιους από τους τοίχους του βαπτιστηρίου αυτού του αρχαίου κτίσματος. Η παρουσία της εκεί δεν φαίνεται να ήταν τυχαία· το βάπτισμα ήταν για τους αρχαίους χριστιανούς ένα ανάλογο θαύμα ανόρθωσης και θεραπείας διά της αφέσεως των αμαρτιών:

Στην ηλεκτρονική έκδοση της Haaretz μπορείτε να διαβάσετε την περιγραφή και το σχολιασμό των ψηφιδωτών που βρέθηκαν στη βασιλική του 5ου αιώνα που πρόσφατα (Ιούλιος 2019) ήρθε στο φως στην Αντιόχεια-Ίππου (Sussita) στη Γαλιλαία. Τα ψηφιδωτά φαίνεται να απεικονίζουν το θαύμα του χορτασμού των 5.000 όπως μαρτυρείται στα ευαγγέλια. Ως τόπος όπου έλαβε χώρα το θαύμα συνήθως θεωρείται η Tibgha, όπου και πάλι έχει βρεθεί ένα ανάλογο ψηφιδωτό, πολλοί όμως ερμηνευτές θεωρούν τη Δεκάπολη και την περιοχή της Αντιόχειας ως πιθανότερο τόπο. Σε κάθε περίπτωση η εύρεση αυτού του νέου ψηφιδωτού θέτει ενδιαφέροντα ερωτήματα για τις αρχαίες χριστιανικές κοινότητες της περιοχής και πώς έβλεπαν τη σύνδεσή τους με την ιστορία των ευαγγελίων:
