Έφυγε από την ζωή ο γνωστός καινοδιαθηκολόγος Joseph Fitzmyer. O Fitzmyer διετέλεσε καθηγητής του The Catholic University of America και υπήρξε ένας πολυγραφότατος συγγραφέας κι ένας βαθύς γνώστης του αραμαϊκού υπόβαθρου του αρχέγονου Χριστιανισμού. Είναι γνωστά τα υπομνήματά του στο κατά Λουκάν (Ancher Yale Bible Commentaries), στις Πράξεις (Anchor Yale Bible Commentaries, στην Α΄ προς Κορινθίους και την προς Ρωμαίους, καθώς και οι μελέτες του για τη θεολογία του Παύλου.

Βιβλικές σπουδές και προκατάληψη / Biblical studies and bias

Στην ιστοσελιδα The Bible and Interpretation έχει αναρτηθεί ένα ενδιαφέρον κείμενο του Jeffrey L. Morrow για το κατά πόσο η βιβλική ερμηνεία μπορεί να θεωρηθεί περισσότερο προκατειλημμένη από οποιαδήποτε άλλη μορφή ερμηνείας. 
Καταλήγει στα εξής στην τελευταία ενότητα με τον τίτλο Theological Exegesis is No More Biased Than Allegedly Secular Exegesis:

"...I also think we need to recognize our own biases, and potential blind spots, when we engage in scholarship, biblical or otherwise. We should retain an openness to arguments from others, even when their starting assumptions differ so greatly from our own."
