Θρησκευτική ανανέωση και γραφές στα βιβλία 4 Έσδρα και 2 Βαρούχ / Religious innovation and Scriptures in 4 Esdra and 2 Baruch

 Στην ιστοσελίδα The Bible and Interpretation δημοσιεύεται το άρθρο της Lydia Gore-Jones για το ρόλο των Γραφών στα κείμενα 4 Έσδρα και 2 Βαρούχ και το πώς αυτά αντιλαμβάνονται τη θρησκευτική ανανέωση. Το βασικό ερώτημα που καλείται η συγγραφέας να απαντήσει είναι το πώς ο αρχαίος Ιουδαϊσμός προσπάθησε να απαντήσει τις προκλήσεις της εποχής του και να προσαρμόσει στις θεόπνευστες Γραφές του στις νέες καταστάσεις που αντιμετώπιζε. Μία τέτοια σημαντική πρόκληση είναι η καταστροφή του Ναού το 70 μ.Χ. Η θρησκευτική και πολιτική κρίση, που διέρχεται ο Ιουδαϊσμός τότε, αντικατοπτρίζεται στα 4 Έσδρα και 2 Βαρούχ:
