Γάλλοι και Αιγύπτιοι αρχαιολόγοι που μελετούν το καταποντισμένο λιμάνι του Ηρακλείου (Θώνις) στην Αίγυπτο εντόπισαν το ναυάγιο ενός πολεμικού πλοίου του 2ου αι. μ.Χ. καθώς κι ένα ταφικό σύμπλεγμα του 4ου αι. π.Χ. που καταποντίστηκε σε κάποιον από τους σεισμούς που οδήγησαν την αρχαία πόλη στο βυθό. Τέτοια ταφικά κτίρια βεβαιώνουν την παρουσία Ελλήνων εμπόρων στην Αίγυπτο αυτήν την εποχή. Το πλοίο, μήκους 25 μ., κατάλληλο για την πλεύση στον Νείλο, μάλλον ήταν αγκυροβολημένο δίπλα στο ναό του Αμούν και συμπαρασύρθηκε στο βυθό σε κάποιον από τους σεισμούς που κατέστρεψαν την πόλη:

Μία σημαντική ανακάλυψη για το pomoerium της Ρώμης / An important discovery about Rome's pomoerium

Οι αρχαιολόγοι στην Ρώμη έφεραν στο φως μία ενδιαφέρουσα ενεπίγραφη στήλη από ασβεστόλιθο η οποία σημειώνει τα όρια του pomoerium της Ρώμης. Σύμφωνα με τους αρχαιολόγους έχουν ήδη βρεθεί 10 τέτοιες στήλες στη Ρώμη, η τελευταία ήρθε στο φως περίπου 100 χρόνια πριν. Η νέα στήλη χρονολογείται στην εποχή του Κλαυδίου και παρέχει σημαντικές πληροφορίες για την οριοθέτηση της ιερής περιοχής της πόλης της Ρώμης στα μέσα του 1ου αι. μ.Χ. Το pomoerium ήταν η ιερή περιοχή της Ρώμης και των αποικιών της. Στα χρόνια του Κλαυδίου τα όρια του pomoerium και της πόλης της Ρώμης επαναπροσδιορίστηκαν. Ο εντοπισμός μερικών από αυτές in situ βοηθά στην ανίχνευση αυτών των νέων ορίων της πόλης. Η νέα στήλη θα εκτίθεται στο Μουσείο του Ara Pacis:
