Σύμφωνα με δημοσίευμα του Live Science αρχαιολόγοι στο Ισραήλ έφεραν στο φως χαναανιτικό φρούριο του 12ου αι. π.Χ. Πρόκειται για αμυντικό οχυρό το οποίο κτίσθηκε από Αιγύπτιους και Χαναναίους με σκοπό να αναχαιτίσει τους Φιλισταίους που μόλις είχαν εμφανιστεί στην περιοχή:
