Διεθνές συνέδριο για το Άγιο Πνεύμα / International Conference on Holy Spirit
H Eastern Europe Liaison Committee (EELC) της SNTS σε συνεργασία με τη Θεολογική Σχολή του Βελιγραδίου διοργανώνει το 6ο διεθνές συνέδριο με την ευλογία του επισκόπου Ειρηναίου του Novi Sad και της Backa, καθηγητή της Κ.Δ. στο Βελιγράδι στο διάστημα 25-31.8.2013.
Το θέμα της φετινής συνάντησης είναι το Άγιο Πνεύμα:

H Βιβλική Εταιρία και το Heythrop College διοργανώνουν από κοινού στο διάστημα 9-10 Σεπτεμβρίου 2013 μία διημερίδα με θέμα τις μεταφράσεις της Βίβλου:
Conference Description
Can a translation really be faithful to the original? The question seems simple. But the answers given by experts are remarkably divergent. Some consider fidelity in translation ultimately to lie outside the realms of possibility. Others reject such pessimism, pronouncing translation to be necessarily possible. Yet others prefer to make the best of it, and get on with the messy job. But why do views diverge so radically? Why does the ordinary idea of ‘translation’ turn out to be so knotty?
The question is particularly acute with respect to bible translation, where perception of the text’s authority is often inseparable from notions of its divine origin and where expectations of a text’s transcendent truth must be reconciled with its historical particularity. Bible translators and theologians often view bible translation as essentially distinct from any other kind of translation. Is it?
As home to theologians, biblical scholars and philosophers Heythrop is an ideal locus for this project. The conference takes bible translation as a point of departure and moves beyond into the breadth of translation studies. Our aim is to bring translators, philosophers, theologians, linguists and anthropologists together to look again at translation and how we might most usefully conceive it. The theorists are invited to deliberate with translators, those who daily dirty their fingers with the gritty business of translation. The result will be a conversation that should open new ways of thinking about translation.
Delegates are invited to attend this fully catered two-day event, funded by the Bible Society and Heythrop College. Join us in the beautiful grounds of Heythrop College, Kensington Square, London, for what promises to be a fascinating and thought-provoking meeting.
