 Έφυγε από τη ζωή ο ομότιμος καθηγητής της Καινής Διαθήκης στη Θεολογική Σχολή του ΕΚΠΑ, Γεώργιος Πατρώνος. Ο εκλιπών γεννήθηκε στο Λέχοβο και σπούδασε στη Θεολογική Σχολή Αθηνών. Συνέχισε τις σπουδές σου σε πανεπιστήμια του εξωτερικού και το 1975 αναγορεύτηκε διδάκτορας με θέμα διατριβής «Σχέσις παρόντος και μέλλοντος εις την περί βασιλείας του Θεού διδασκαλίαν της Ορθοδόξου θεολογίας». Εργάστηκε από το 1970 ως βοηθός στη Θεολογική Σχολή Αθηνών κι από το 1976 κι εξής ως μέλος ΔΕΠ έως και το 2002, όταν αφυπηρέτησε και ανακηρύχθηκε ομότιμος καθηγητής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Το 2014 χειροθετήθηκε Άρχοντας Διδάσκαλος της του Χριστού Μεγάλης Εκκλησίας. Υπήρξε αφοσιωμένος δάσκαλος, αγαπητός στους φοιτητές του, αλλά κι εργάτης του ευαγγελίου με δράση κυρίως στο χώρο της ιεραποστολής στην Αφρική. Άνθρωπος απλός και προσηνής, με ευγένεια και ηπιότητα. Το συγγραφικό έργο που άφησε πίσω του είναι εξαιρετικά πλούσιο. Ενδεικτικά αναφέρω εδώ τις μελέτες του Μεσσιανικαί και εσχατολογικαί προσδοκίαι της μεσοδιαθηκικής περιόδου (200 π.Χ. – 100 μ.Χ.) [1970]· Η χαρά στην Καινή Διαθήκη [1983]· Η ιστορική πορεία του Ιησού, από τη φάτνη ως τον κενό τάφο [1991]· Αγία Γραφή και ιεραποστολή [2001]·Ιστορία και εσχατολογία [2001].
