Το βασικό ερώτημα που καλείται η συγγραφέας να απαντήσει είναι το πώς ο αρχαίος Ιουδαϊσμός προσπάθησε να απαντήσει τις προκλήσεις της εποχής του και να προσαρμόσει στις θεόπνευστες Γραφές του στις νέες καταστάσεις που αντιμετώπιζε.
