Νέες επιστολές από την Vindolanda / New letters in Vindolanda

Ένα από τα νέα πινακίδια που βρέθηκαν στο φρούριο της Vindolanda

Σύμφωνα με την ηλεκτρονική έκδοση της εφημερίδας the Guardian οι αρχαιολόγοι έφεραν στο φως μία νέα συλλογή 25 επιστολών Ρωμαίων στρατιωτών που ήταν εγκατεστημένοι στο φρούριο της Vindolanda. To 1992 είχε εντοπιστεί μία σημαντική συλλογή επιστολών γραμμένων σε ξύλινα πινακίδια  οι οποίες απεκάλυπταν σημαντικές πτυχές των Ρωμαίων στρατιωτών που ήταν εγκαταστημένοι σε αυτό το άκρο του τείχους του Αδριανού. Οι νέες επιστολές βρίσκονται σε διαδικασία συντήρησης. Από τις πρώτες όμως αναγνώσεις των ευρημάτων στα κείμενα εμφανίζονται πρόσωπα που ήταν ήδη γνωστά από τις προηγούμενες επιστολές.
