Ένα νέο ενδιαφέρον εύρημα / A new interesting finding

Σύμφωνα με δημοσίευμα της Haaretz ο πέτρινος σφραγιδόλιθος, που βρέθηκε στις ανασκαφές του Tel Beit Shemesh, ίσως αποτελεί την πρώτη αρχαιολογική απόδειξη της ιστορίας του Σαμψών. 

Πρόκειται για πέτρινο σφραγιδόλιθο, με μέγεθος 1,5 εκ., που απεικονίζει ένα μεγάλο ζώο δίπλα σε έναν άνθρωπο (φωτό). Ειδικοί εκτιμούν ότι ίσως πρόκειται για απεικόνιση της ιστορίας της πάλης του Σαμψών με ένα λιοντάρι. Χρονολογείται στον 11ο αι. π.Χ., στην περίοδο των Κριτών. 

Οι αρχαιολόγοι της ανασκαφής Prof. Shlomo Bunimovitz and Dr. Zvi Lederman (Πανεπιστήμιο του Tel Aviv) δε θεωρούν ότι πρόκειται για απεικόνιση του Σαμψών που αντιμετωπίζει ένα λιοντάρι. Υποστηρίζουν ότι στην περιοχή (στην οποία σύμφωνα με τη βιβλική ιστορία έζησε ο Σαμψών) ήταν διαδεδομένος ένας μύθος για έναν ήρωα που σκοτώνει ένα λιοντάρι. Η ίδια ιστορία αποδόθηκε στην παράδοση στο πρόσωπο του Σαμψών. 

H είδηση έκανε το γύρο σε ιστοσελίδες και βιβλικά ιστολόγια.

[Α.T. Oπωσδήποτε το εύρημα είναι εξαιρετικά ενδιαφέρον όμως οι αρχαιολόγοι δικαιολογημένα διατηρούν τις επιφυλάξεις τους και συνδέουν την εικόνα με ένα γενικότερο θέμα στις τοπικές παραδόσεις της περιοχής. Τίποτε στην εικόνα δεν συνδέει άμεσα την παράσταση με τον γνωστό ήρωα της Π.Δ. Αυτό βέβαια δεν ακυρώνει την σημασία του ευρήματος, απλά το τοποθετεί σε ένα ευρύτερο πλαίσιο παραδόσεων.
