Η Αποκάλυψη των Μάγων στο Newsweek / The Revelation of Magi in Newsweek

Η ηλεκτρονική έκδοση του περιοδικού Newsweek φιλοξενεί ένα σύντομο άρθρο σχετικά με την απόκρυφη Αποκάλυψη των Μάγων, ένα συριακό κείμενο του 2ου ή 3ου αιώνα το οποίο περιγράφει το ταξίδι των Μάγων προς την Βηθλεέμ και την επιστροφή στην πατρίδα τους. Το κείμενο εκδόθηκε για πρώτη φορά μαζί με μετάφραση στα αγγλικά και σχόλια από τον Brent Landau (University of Austin, Texas). 

Ενδιαφέρον στοιχείο στο κείμενο είναι ο τρόπος που περιγράφεται το αστέρι της Βηθλεέμ, το οποίο αποκαλύπτεται ότι είναι ο νεογέννητος Ιησούς. Πρόκειται για ένα σπάνιο στοιχείο, το οποίο απαντά και σε κάποια άλλα κείμενα της εξωκανονικής γραμματείας (βλ. το Ευαγγέλιο του Arundel το οποίο επίσης περιέχει την ιστορία των Μάγων).
