Beitzel (Trinity Evangelical Divinity School) παρουσιάζει αυτήν την αναζήτηση μέσα από παλαιούς χάρτες και ιστορικές μαρτυρίες. Υποστηρίζει ότι η αρχαία χριστιανική παράδοση κι οι μαρτυρίες προσκυνητών, αρχαίοι χάρτες και απεικονίσεις φαίνεται να τοποθετούν την Ερυθρά Θάλασσα της Εξόδου κάπου στο Δέλτα του Νείλου:
