H λεγόμενη "επιγραφή της Ναζαρέτ", η ελληνική μετάφραση ενός αυτοκρατορικού διατάγματος σχετικά με τη βεβήλωση των τάφων και των νεκρών εξακολουθεί να είναι ένα μεγάλο αίνιγμα για τους ειδικούς. Μας λείπουν οι ακριβείς πληροφορίες για τον αρχικό τόπο εύρεσης κι η χρονολόγησή της εξακολουθεί να είναι αντικείμενο συζήτησης. Κατά συνέπεια, η πιθανή σύνδεσή της με τους πρώτους χριστιανούς και το κήρυγμα της Ανάστασης είναι κάτι που παραμένει αναπάντητο. Για όλα αυτά έγραψα πριν πολλά χρόνια σε μία ανασκόπηση της μέχρι τότε έρευνας (E. Tsalampouni, "The Nazareth Inscription: A Controversial Piece of Palestinian Epigraphy (1930-1999)," TEKMERIA 6 (2001): 70-122).

Στο ηλεκτρονικό περιοδικό Los Angeles Review of Books o Kyle Harper (Πανεπιστήμιο της Oklahoma) δημοσιεύει ένα σύντομο αλλά εξαιρετικά ενδιαφέρον κείμενο για την επιγραφή της Ναζαρέτ και την πιθανή διαδρομή της μέχρι την συλλογή του Wilhelm Foehner. Ο Harper παρουσιάζει άγνωστες πτυχές αυτής της ιστορίας, αλλά ταυτόχρονα σημειώνει τις δυσκολίες και τις προκλήσεις που έχει να αντιμετωπίσει η επιγραφική στην προσπάθειά της να ερμηνεύσει τα κείμενα των επιγραφών:
