Jacob Neusner (1932-2016)

Στις 8 Οκτωβρίου έφυγε από τη ζωή ο γνωστός καθηγητής του ραββινικού Ιουδαϊσμού Jacob Neusner. Είναι γνωστός για το μεγάλο συγγραφικό του έργο (υπήρξε συγγραφέας ή εκδότης περισσοτέρων από 950 βιβλίων). Σπούδασε στο Harvard University, το Jewish Theological Seminary of America και τα Πανεπιστήμια του Oxford και του Yale. Δίδαξε σε διάφορα Πανεπιστήμια της Αμερικής και υπήρξε μέλος πολλών διεθνών οργανισμών. Ανάμεσα στα σημαντικά έργα του είναι η μετάφραση όλου του ραββινικού κανόνα κι επιμέρους μελέτες για τον ραββινικό Ιουδαϊσμό. Για το διάλογο Ιουδαϊσμού και Χριστιανισμού σημαντικά είναι δύο έργα του: The Bible and Us: A Priest and A Rabbi Read Scripture Together (New York 1990) και A Rabbi Talks with Jesus (Philadelphia, 1993).
