Ένα vomitorium του αμφιθεάτρου της Trier. Τα vomitoria ήταν οι έξοδοι σε αμφιθέατρα και στάδια, από όπου οι θεατές μπορούσαν γρήγορα να εξέλθουν. Δεν έχουν, επομένως, καμιά σχέση με το μύθο ότι ήταν χώροι όπου οι Ρωμαίοι μπορούσαν να αδειάσουν το στομάχι τους από το φαγητό προκειμένου να συνεχίσουν το δείπνο. Νέο μωσαϊκό με παράσταση του Ποσειδώνα στις Αιγές της Κιλικίας / A new mosaic with a depiction of Poseidon in Aigai on Cilicia

Σύμφωνα με δημοσιεύματα τουρκικών εφημερίδων των προηγούμενων ημερών έναν όμορφο μωσαϊκό με παράσταση του Ποσειδώνα βρέθηκε στην αρχαιολογική τοποθεσία των αρχαίων Αιγών της Κιλικίας στην περιοχή των Αδάνων. Ειδικότερα, η παράσταση είναι μέρος του μωσαϊκού που κοσμούμε το frigidarium ενός αρχαίου λουτρού. Ήδη παλαιότερα ένα άλλο μωσαϊκό με παράσταση Έρωτα είχε έρθει στο φως στην ίδια πόλη. Σύμφωνα με το δημοσίευμα τύπου το μωσαϊκό στο σύνολό του ήταν έκτασης 11,39 τ.μ. κι ήταν χωρισμένο σε δύο μέρη. Το ένα από αυτά έχει καταστραφεί, ενώ στο βόρειο τμήμα βρίσκεται η παράσταση του Ποσειδώνα πλαισιωμένη από δελφίνια. Σύμφωνα με το δημοσίευμα της hurriyetdailynews οι ανασκαφείς το χρονολογούν στον 3ο με 4ο αι. π.Χ. (ωστόσο νομίζω ότι θα πρέπει να είναι ρωμαϊκό, αλλά για αυτό θα πρέπει να αποφανθούν οι ειδικοί).
