Μία νέα συναγωγή του 1ου αι. στην Γαλιλαία / A new synagogue of the 1st c. found in Galilee

Αρχαιολόγοι με επικεφαλής τον Dr. Motti Aviam του Ινστιτούτου Kenneret της Β. Γαλιλαίας έφεραν στο φως μία συναγωγή του 1ου αι. μ.Χ. στα ανώτερα στρώματα του Tel Recheš, όπου νωρίτερα είχαν εντοπισθεί τα ερείπια ρωμαϊκού αγροκτήματος. Πρόκειται για ένα εντυπωσιακό κτίσμα 9 μ. x 8 μ. με πάγκους κατά μήκους των τοίχων φτιαγμένους από ασβεστόλιθο. Οι αρχαιολόγοι εντόπισαν επίσης έναν από τους δύο κίονες που στήριζαν την οροφή της συναγωγής. Σύμφωνα με την εκτίμηση των αρχαιολόγων η συναγωγή κατασκευάστηκε για να καλύψει τις θρησκευτικές ανάγκες των Ιουδαίων που ζούσαν στο αγρόκτημα (του ιδιοκτήτη της και των εργατών), κάτι που καθιστά το εύρημα μοναδικό στο είδος του.

H ροζέτα της Μάλτας / The Rosetta Stone of Malta

Στην ιστοσελίδα Ancient Origins έχει αναρτηθεί ένα σύντομο άρθρο σχετικά με δύο μνημεία ου προέρχονται από την Μάλτα κι είναι γνωστά ως cippi της Μάλτας. Ο ένας βρίσκεται στο Μουσείο του Λούβρου κι ο άλλος στο Εθνικό Αρχαιολογικό Μουσεία της Valletta στην Μάλτα. Δύο επιγραφές, μία στα ελληνικά και μία στη φοινικική, περιέχουν αφιέρωση στον Melqart, τον θεό της ζωής και του θανάτου της Τύρου. 

Οι δυο στήλες της Μάλτας προέρχονται από το ιερό του Ηρακλή-Melqart στο λόφο Tas-Silġ του νησιού. Χρονολογούνται στον 2ο αι. π.Χ. Οι δύο επιγραφές βοήθησαν τον  π. Jean-Jacques Barthélémy, Γάλλο αρχαιολόγο, να διαβάσει το φοινικικό αλφάβητο.
