Από τον εκδοτικό οίκο Eisenbrauns κυκλοφόρησε η μελέτη του James K. Aitken, στην οποία εξετάζεται το λεξιλόγιο της μετάφρασης των Ο΄ με τη βοήθεια των επιγραφών. Η μελέτη του Aitken έρχεται να καλύψει ένα κενό στην έρευνα, καθώς οι επιγραφές δεν χρησιμοποιούνται συνήθως στη μελέτη του λεξιλογίου των Ο΄ (σε αντίθεση προς τους παπύρους που συχνά αποτελούν σημείο αναφοράς):

For understanding biblical Greek in context, the importance of the discoveries of papyri was recognized early in the twentieth century, while inscriptions by comparison were left unexplored. Those scholars who had intended to turn their attention to the inscriptions were delayed by their work on the papyri and by the conviction that the greater results would come from these. As a result, undue focus has been placed on papyri, and biblical Greek words have been viewed only through their lens, leading to the inference that the Greek is specifically Egyptian and vernacular. This volume widens the focus on Septuagint words by demonstrating how the inscriptions, coming from a broader geographical region than papyri and containing a wider range of registers, are a source that should not remain untouched.
This work explains the current state of the study of Septuagint vocabulary and outlines the competing roles of papyri and inscriptions in its interpretation, including the limitations of focussing solely on papyri. The practical issues for a biblical scholar in dealing with inscriptions are presented and some guidance is given for those wishing to explore the resources further. Finally, examples are drawn together of how inscriptions can illuminate our understanding of Septuagint vocabulary, and thereby inform the socio-historical position of the Septuagint. The origins of apparently new words in the Septuagint, the semantic and grammatical function of words, and the geographical distribution and register all demonstrate the need for further investigation into this field.

Ένα νέο ηλεκτρονικό περιοδικό για την ΚΔ, τον αρχαίο Ιουδαϊσμό και τον αρχέγονο Χριστιανισμό / A new e-journal on NT, ancient Judaism and Early Christianity
Ένα νέο ηλεκτρονικό περιοδικό έκανε την εμφάνισή του χτες στο διαδίκτυο. Πρόκειται για το Journal of the Jesus Movement in its Jewish Setting, ένα περιοδικό με κριτές που εκδίδεται από τον εκδοτικό οίκο Eisenbrauns και σε συνεργασία με το Πανεπιστήμιο McMasters και το Κέντρο Caspari. Σύμφωνα με την περιγραφή το περιοδικό θα δημοσιεύει μελέτες που θα αφορούν στην ιστορία των Ιουδαϊκών και αρχαίων χριστιανικών παραδόσεων και θα καλύπτει τις εξής περιοχές:

Η αναζήτηση της βασίλισσας της Σεβά / The quest for the queen of Sheba
Στην ηλεκτρονική έκδοση των Khaleej Times υπάρχει ένα σύντομο δημοσίευμα για τους αρχαιολόγους Wendell Philips και Merilyn Phillips Hodgson και το αρχαιολογικό έργο κυρίως του πρώτου στην σημερινή Υεμένη, όπου εντοπίζεται το γνωστό από την Παλαιά Διαθήκη βασίλειο της Σεβά.

Κανονικά και εξωκανονικά ευαγγέλια / Canonical and extracanonical Gospel
Στο ιστολόγιό του Acts and More ο Steve Walton δημοσιεύει περίληψη της πολύ ενδιαφέρουσας εισήγησης του Simon Gathercole στο φετινό British New Testament Conference, σχετικά με τη διάκριση μεταξύ κανονικών και εξωκανονικών ευαγγελίων.
Ο Gathercole εντοπίζει 4 βασικά στοιχεία που συνιστούν την regula fidei και τα οποία περιέχονται στο αποστολικό κήρυγμα, όπως αυτό διασώζεται στο Α΄ Κορ 15, 3-4:
- ο Ιησούς ως ο Χριστός
- το σωτηριώδες έργο του Ιησού ως εκπλήρωση των Γραφών
- ο ιλαστήριος χαρακτήρας της θυσίας του Ιησού
- η ανάσταση του Ιησού
Στη συνέχεια αναζητά αυτά τα στοιχεία στα τέσσερα κανονικά βιβλία και σε επτά εξωκανονικά (Ευαγγέλιο Πέτρου, της Αλήθειας, του Θωμά, του Φιλίππου, της Μαρίας, των Αιγυπτίων και του Ιούδα). Καταλήγει ότι ενώ τα κανονικά ευαγγέλια περιέχουν και τα τέσσερα παραπάνω στοιχεία, στα εξωκανονικά μπορεί να έχουν ορισμένα από αυτά αλλά όχι όλα.

Κυκλοφόρησε από τον εκδοτικό οίκο de Gruyter ένας συλλογικός τόμος, τον οποίο επιμελούνται οι Ehud Ben Zvi και Christoph Levin κι έχει ως θέμα το νερό ως σύμβολο στον Ιουδαϊσμό της εποχής του Δεύτερου Ναού:
