Ένα εντυπωσιακό νέο εύρημα από την Πομπηία / An impressive new finding from Pompeii

 Σύμφωνα με χτεσινά δημοσιεύματα αρχαιολόγοι που εργάζονται στην ανασκαφή της αρχαίας έπαυλης στην περιοχή της Civita Giuliana έξω από τα βόρεια τείχη της αρχαίας Πομπηίας έφεραν στο φως ένα άρμα σχεδόν ανέπαφο κατασκευασμένο ορείχαλκο και κασσίτερο, με διατηρημένα αρκετά από τα ξύλινα μέρη του. Το άρμα βρέθηκε στη στοά μπροστά από τους στάβλους της έπαυλης, στο ίδιο σημείο όπου το 2018 είχε βρεθεί ο σκελετός αλόγου. Σύμφωνα με τους αρχαιολόγους πρόκειται για όχημα που χρησιμοποιούνταν στις εορταστικές εκδηλώσεις και παρελάσεις της πόλης (ίσως ο τύπος του pilentum που αναφέρεται σε αρχαίες πηγές). Πρόκειται για ένα μοναδικό εύρημα ανάλογο με εκείνο σε ταφή στα ελληνικά σύνορα με τη Βουλγαρία πριν 15 χρόνια. To άρμα της Πομπηίας είναι διακοσμημένο με ερωτικές σκηνές κι έρωτες, κάτι που οδηγεί τους αρχαιολόγους στο συμπέρασμα ότι ίσως πρόκειται για άρμα που χρησιμοποιούνταν σε γαμήλιες πομπές:
