Klaus Berger (25.11.1940-8.6.2020)

Έφυγε ξαφνικά από τη ζωή στα 79 του χρόνια ο ομότιμος καθηγητής της καθηγητής της Καινής Διαθήκης του Πανεπιστημίου της Heidelberg, Klaus Berger. Σύμφωνα με την πληροφορία της συζύγου του, Christiane Nord, αιτία του θανάτου ήταν η ανακοπή καρδιάς. Ο εκλιπών καθηγητής σπούδασε στα Πανεπιστήμια του Μονάχου, Βερολίνου και του Αμβούργου. Ανακηρύχθηκε διδάκτωρ από το Πανεπιστήμιο του Μονάχου αλλά εξαιτίας των θέσεών του, που θεωρήθηκαν ότι δεν συνάδουν πλήρως με τη διδασκαλία της Ρωμαιοκαθολικής Εκκλησίας, δε μπόρεσε να γίνει ιερέας. Υπέβαλε την υφηγεσία του στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Αμβούργου και στη συνέχεια δίδαξε σε πανεπιστήμια της Ολλανδίας. Από το 1974 και μέχρι την συνταξιοδότησή του το 2006 δίδαξε στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Heidelberg, όπου είχα τη χαρά να παρακολουθήσω μαθήματά του. Υπήρξε πολυγραφότατος ερευνητής με πρωτότυπες μελέτες σε θέματα αποκαλυπτικής, ερμηνευτικής της Καινής Διαθήκης και εισαγωγής στην Καινή Διαθήκη, Κουμράν, πατερικής γραμματείας. Οι θέσεις του συχνά ήταν τολμηρές και προκάλεσαν αντιδράσεις αλλά και γόνιμες συζητήσεις μεταξύ των ερευνητών. Υπήρξε αναμφισβήτητα ένας από τους πολύ σημαντικούς Γερμανούς καινοδιαθηκολόγους των νεότερων χρόνων και το έργο του θα συνεχίσει να αποτελεί σημείο αναφοράς και για τις επόμενες γενιές ερευνητών.
