Ένα νέο περιοδικό για τους πρώτους χριστιανικούς αιώνες / A new e-journal on the first centuries of the Christian era

Ένα νέο περιοδικό έκανε πρόσφατα την εμφάνισή του στο διαδίκτυο. Ο τίτλος του είναι Post Augustum κι από τις λίγες πληροφορίες που δίνονται για αυτό στη σχετική ιστοσελίδα αντλώ εδώ την εξής περιγραφή:

"Το περιοδικό Post Augustum στοχεύει στην προώθηση της μελέτης του αρχαίου κόσμου με έμφαση στον μεσογειακό χώρο κατά τους πρώτους μεταχριστιανικούς αιώνες. Φιλοδοξεί να αποτελέσει έναν φιλόξενο χώρο συνάντησης και συζήτησης, προωθώντας την έρευνα και ανοίγοντας διαύλους επικοινωνίας με ευρύτερα ακροατήρια.Δημοσιεύει ελληνικά ή ξενόγλωσσα άρθρα και βιβλιοκρισίες. Εκδίδεται σε ηλεκτρονική μορφή ετησίως. Τα άρθρα αναρτώνται αμέσως μετά την έγκριση της συντακτικής ομάδας, με τη σειρά που παραλαμβάνονται, στις επόμενες σελίδες του εκάστοτε τρέχοντος τεύχους."

Altercatio Simonis Iudaei et Theophili Christiani

Στο ιστολόγιό του ο Alin Suciu φιλοξενεί τη μετάφραση από το λατινικό του αντιιουδαϊκού διαλόγου Altercatio Simonis Iudaei et Theophili Christiani. Πρόκειται για ένα χριστιανικό κείμενο του 5ου αι. στο πρότυπο του γνωστού Διαλόγου πρὸς Τρύφωνα του Ιουστίνου. Το λατινικό κείμενο έχει εκδοθεί στην J.P. Migne Patrologia Latina 20 (1845) col. 1165-1180, όπου αποδίδεται στον Ευάγριο. Επιπλέον, το κείμενο εκδόθηκε από τον Adolf von Harnack στο Texte und Untersuchungen τόμ. I, 3 (1883), 1-136 (στο archive):

Στην ιστοσελίδα Ancient Jew Review ο Sean P. Burrus έχει αναρτήσει την περίληψη της πολύ ενδιαφέρουσας διατριβής του για τις ιουδαϊκές σαρκοφάγους των ρωμαϊκών χρόνων. Από το υλικό που συγκέντρωσε καθίσταται σαφές ότι οι Ιουδαίοι του ελληνορωμαϊκού κόσμου υιοθετούν τις πρακτικές του εθνικού περιβάλλοντός τους στις ταφές και στις σαρκοφάγους που βρέθηκαν στην Beth She'arim και στη Ρώμη:

Οι ρωμαϊκοί δρόμοι / The Roman roads

Ένα σύντομο άρθρο με πολύ όμορφες φωτογραφίες ρωμαϊκών δρόμων, ίχνη των οποίων εντοπίζονται ακόμη και σήμερα στην Ευρώπη δημοσιεύεται στο ηλεκτρονικό περιοδικό Ars Obscura. Το δημοσίευμα εστιάζει κυρίως στο δυτικό τμήμα της ρωμαϊκής αυτοκρατορίας κι έχει μόνο μια σύντομη αναφορά στο οδικό δίκτυο της Ανατολής (και καμιά αναφορά στην Ελλάδα και κυρίως στην Εγνατία), δίνει όμως χρήσιμες πληροφορίες γενικότερα για το οδικό σύστημα και για συγκεκριμένους οδικούς άξονες:
