Δεν έχουν, επομένως, καμιά σχέση με το μύθο ότι ήταν χώροι όπου οι Ρωμαίοι μπορούσαν να αδειάσουν το στομάχι τους από το φαγητό προκειμένου να συνεχίσουν το δείπνο.
