Kεραμικά και γυάλινα σκεύη σε έναν από τους βοηθητικούς χώρους 

της οικίας του Lalarium στην Πομπηία (Φωτο: Reuters)

Οι πρόσφατες ανασκαφές στους χώρους της "Οικίας του Lalarium" (εξαιτίας του σχετικού χώρου αφιερωμένου στη λατρεία των lares της οικίας), έφεραν στο φως έναν σημαντικό αριθμό οικιακών σκευών και επίπλων. Τα νέα ευρήματα φωτίζουν πτυχές της καθημερινής ζωής των ανθρώπων της Πομπηίας και παρέχουν πληροφορίες για την οικονομική και κοινωνική τους θέση.

Γεώργιος Γαλίτης (1926-2022)

Έφυγε από τη ζωή ο ομότιμος καθηγητής της Καινής Διαθήκης Γεώργιος Γαλίτης κι η οικογένεια των Ελλήνων καινοδιαθηκολόγων γίνεται φτωχότερη. Γεννήθηκε στο Βόλο. Σπούδασε θεολογία  στη Θεολογική Σχολή Αθηνών και συνέχισε τις σπουδές του στα πανεπιστήμια του Marburg, Bonn και Mainz στη Γερμανία. Το 1969 διορίστηκε καθηγητής στην έδρα της Ιστορίας Χρόνων της Καινής Διαθήκης και Ερμηνείας της Καινής Διαθήκης στη Θεολογική Σχολή Θεσσαλονίκης και το 1979 μετακλήθηκε στη Θεολογική Αθηνών, όπου δίδαξε Εισαγωγή και Ερμηνεία της Καινής Διαθήκης. Δίδαξε ως επισκέπτης καθηγητής σε διάφορα ακαδημαϊκά ιδρύματα (Πανεπιστήμιο Μονάχου, Ανωτέρα Εκκλησιαστική Σχολή κ.ά.) και διετέλεσε διευθυντής του περιοδικού Ανάπλασις. Ο καθηγητής Γαλίτης συνδύαζε με εξαιρετικό τρόπο την ακαδημαϊκή θεολογία με τη διακονία της Εκκλησίας, κάτι που προκύπτει από το πλούσιο επιστημονικό του έργο αλλά και από τη συμμετοχή του σε επιτροπές διαχριστιανικού διαλόγου. Για αυτήν του την προσφορά τιμήθηκε από το Πατριαρχείο Κωνσταντινουπόλεως και Ιεροσολύμων. Το 2005 ανακηρύχθηκε επίτιμος διδάκτορας του Πανεπιστημίου Βουκουρεστίου. Ορισμένες από τις επιστημονικές του μελέτες ήταν: Αρχηγός εν τη Καινή Διαθήκη (1960), Αρχηγός-Αρχηγέτης εν τη ελληνική γραμματεία και θρησκεία (1960), Χριστολογία των λόγων του Πέτρου (1963), Η προς Τίτον Επιστολή-Εισαγωγή-Υπόμνημα (1978), Η ουσία της ελευθερίας (1981), Ερμηνευτικά της Καινής Διαθήκης (1982) κ.ά. Ήταν ένας εκ των έξι καθηγητών που εκπόνησαν τη μετάφραση της Καινής Διαθήκης στη Νέα Ελληνική με ευθύνη της Ελληνικής Βιβλικής Εταιρίας, η οποία φέρει την έγκριση του Οικουμενικού Πατριαρχείου και της Εκκλησίας της Ελλάδος.

Άνθρωπος ευγενής, με καθαρή θεολογική σκέψη, με εκκλησιαστικό ήθος και αγάπη για τη Θεολογία και το λαό του Θεού. Ανήκει στη γενιά των καινοδιαθηκολόγων του 20ου αιώνα που έθεσαν τις βάσεις της σύγχρονης ακαδημαϊκής βιβλικής έρευνας στην Ελλάδα και προσπάθησαν με ελευθερία, σύνεση και σεβασμό να συνδέσουν την ακαδημαϊκή Θεολογία με τη διακονία της Εκκλησίας. Ας είναι αιωνία η μνήμη του!
