Το Κολοσσαίο κι οι Ιουδαίοι / Colosseum and the Jews

Στο εξαιρετικό της ιστολόγιο, History from Below, η Sarah E. Bond δημοσιεύει ένα σύντομο άρθρο σχετικά με το Κολοσσαίο και υποστηρίζει ότι η ιστορία του συνδέεται με το τέλος του Ιουδαϊκού Πολέμου. Η σύνδεση με τους χριστιανούς έρχεται πολύ αργότερα (οι αρχαιότερες μαρτυρίες είναι του 5ου αι. μ.Χ.). Μία όμως επιγραφή που εντοπίσθηκε από τον Geza Alföldy βεβαιώνει ότι το Κολοσσαίο χτίσθηκε για να θυμίζει την ήττα του ιουδαϊκού λαού από τον Τίτο και τον Βεσπασιανό:

Υπομνηματίζοντας το βιβλίο του Λευιτικού / Writing a commentary on Leviticus

Από τον εκδοτικό οίκο Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht κυκλοφόρησε ένας συλλογικός τόμος με θέμα τον υπομνηματισμό του βιβλίου του Λευιτικού. Στον τόμο συμπεριλαμβάνονται εισηγήσεις ου παρουσιάσθηκαν σε σχετική ερευνητικό ομάδα στις ετήσιες συναντήσεις της SBL το 2014 και 2016. Στο πρώτο μέρος του τόμου περιλαμβάνονται μελέτες που παρουσιάζουν τις προκλήσεις που θέτει ο υπομνηματισμός του συγκεκριμένου βιβλίου της Παλαιάς Διαθήκης. Στο δεύτερο μέρος του συλλογικού τόμου οι μελέτες εστιάζουν σε συγκεκριμένα θέματα του Λευιτικού· λατρεία και θυσίες, καθαρότητα, σχέσεις με το ιερό. Κεντρικό συμπέρασμα σε αυτές τις μελέτες είναι το πώς η οπτική που υιοθετεί ο κάθε ερμηνευτής καθορίζει και τον τρόπο που "διαβάζει" αυτά τα θέματα μέσα στο βιβλίο του Λευιτικού.

Γάμος, βία και βιασμός στην εβραϊκή Βίβλο / Marriage, violence, and rape in the Hebrew Bible

Η Johanna Stiebert στην ιστοσελίδα The Shiloh Project συζητά κριτικά τη στάση της Παλαιάς Διαθήκης στο γάμο, την ενδοοικογενειακή βία και τον βιασμό με αφορμή τις θέσεις του Andreas Klostenberger για επιστροφή στο βιβλικό ιδεώδες του γάμου. Η Stiebert παρουσιάζει κάποια δύσκολα κείμενα της ΠΔ και καταλήγει ότι η εφαρμογή των βιβλικών χωρίων σχετικά με το γάμο στη σύγχρονη πραγματικότητα πρέπει να γίνεται με εφαρμογή κριτικών ερμηνευτικών πρισμάτων τα οποία θα λαμβάνουν υπόψη τη δυσκολία των βιβλικών κειμένων:
