Ένας νέος τόμος για τις αντιλήψεις σχετικά με τον θάνατο και την ανάσταση στην αρχαιότητα online / Α new volume on death and resurrection ideas in antiquity online
Η βιβλιοθήκη του McGill University σε συνεργασία με το School of Religious Studies του ίδιου Πανεπιστημίου εξέδωσε ηλεκτρονικά έναν τιμητικό τόμο για την πρόσφατα εκλιπούσα καθηγήτρια των Σπουδών στη Θρησκεία, Ellen Bradshaw Aitken. Ο τόμος αυτός, πρώτος σε μία σειρά που εγκαινιάζει η συγκεκριμένη βιβλιοθήκη, είναι προσβάσιμος σε κάθε ενδιαφερόμενο ηλεκτρονικά. Επιπλέον, διαθέτει το πλεονέκτημα ότι πρόκειται για υπερκείμενο (hypertext) με την έννοια ότι υπάρχουν σύνδεσμοι ηλεκτρονικοί μέσα σε αυτό που οδηγούν τον αναγνώστη σε αρχαίες πηγές και κείμενα ελεύθερα στο διαδίκτυο.

Παραβολές και οικονομία / Parables and economy
Στη σελίδα Ancient Jew Review η Michelle Christian εξετάζει κατά πόσο οι παραβολές απηχούν την πραγματική οικονομική κατάσταση της εποχής του Ιησού και καταλήγει ότι τα ποσά που αναφέρονται σε αυτές (αφορμή παίρνει από την παραβολή των ταλάντων) δεν ανταποκρίνονται στην πραγματικότητα της εποχής:
[Α.Τ.: Ας σημειωθεί όμως ότι αυτό το στοιχείο του εξωπραγματικού ή της υπερβολής απαντά συχνά στις παραβολές κι όχι μόνο σε σχέση με τα οικονομικά στοιχεία που αυτές χρησιμοποιούν. Για παράδειγμα, ποιος καρπός σινάπεως μπορεί να αναπτυχθεί σε δένδρο όπου θα βρίσκουν καταφύγιο τα πουλιά ή ποιος λογικός τσομπάνης εγκαταλείπει τα 99 πρόβατα για να βρει το ένα; Αυτό, ωστόσο, το στοιχείο της υπερβολής, το οποίο σαφώς προκαλεί και προβληματίζει τον πρώτο ακροατή της ιστορίας, συνδέεται ενδεχομένως άμεσα με την ίδια την φύση της Βασιλείας του Θεού, η οποία δεν μπορεί να ορισθεί από καμιά ανθρώπινη κατηγορία και ξεπερνά κάθε προσδοκία.]
