Περιγραφή εκδοτικού οίκου
Ο συγγραφέας εξετάζει τη μεγάλη αφήγηση των Πράξεων 27, 1 - 28, 6 συγκρίνοντάς την διεξοδικά με τις αρχαίες αφηγήσεις για καταιγίδες και ναυάγια. Η αφήγηση αυτή των Πράξεων έχει ιδιαίτερη σημασία μέσα στο βιβλίο των Πράξεων, διότι προετοιμάζει το τέλος του διπλού έργου του Λουκά. Με αυτήν την αφήγηση ο Λουκάς δεν αποδεικνύεται μόνο ένας προικισμένος άνθρωπος των γραμμάτων, αλλά ένας αφοσιωμένος και ανεξάρτητος αρχαίος χριστιανός συγγραφέας, ο οποίος παρέχει στους αναγνώστες του μέσα από την παρουσίαση των κινδύνων και των δυσκολιών που αντιμετώπισε ο Παύλος ένα ελκυστικό παράδειγμα για να ταυτισθούν. Η μελέτη αυτή, στην οποία ο συγγραφέας εστιάζει το ενδιαφέρον του κυρίως για τα λογοτεχνικά μοτίβα, συμβάλλει όχι μόνο στην καλύτερη κατανόηση της μορφής του Παύλου, όπως αυτή παρουσιάζεται στις Πράξεις, αλλά και στη συζήτηση του προβλήματος του φιλολογικού είδους του βιβλίου των Πράξεων καθώς επίσης και στο πρόβλημα των λεγόμενων "ημείς - εδαφίων".

Τα αρχαιολογικά ευρήματα στο Tell Harif / The archaeological findings in Tell Harif

Στην ιστοσελίδα The Bible and Interpretation έχει αναρτηθεί μία σύντομη παρουσίαση του καθ. Oded Borowski (Emory University) σχετικά με την αρχαιολογική ανασκαφή στο Tell Harif. Η τοποθεσία έφερε κατά τους βιβλικούς χρόνους το όνομα Rimmon ή En Rimmon (Ρόδι ή Πηγή του Ροδιού αντίστοιχα), μαρτυρείται στα Ιησ 15, 32 και 19, 7 και αρχικά ανήκε στην φυλή του Συμεών, ενώ αργότερα πέρασε στην κυριότητα του Ιούδα.

O συγγραφέας πραγματεύεται τη σχέση μεταξύ της δήλωσης του Ιησού ότι έχει εξουσία - όπως αυτή εκδηλώνεται μέσα από την ερμηνεία που δίνει στις θεραπείες που επιτελεί, στο γεγονός ότι συγχωρεί αμαρτίες, στη στάση του απέναντι στην Τορά κτλ. - και της μεταπασχάλιας χριστολογίας. Για λόγους σαφήνειας όσον αφορά στην ορολογία, θα ήταν καλό, σύμφωνα με τον συγγραφέα, να αποφεύγεται ο χαρακτηρισμός αυτής της δήλωσης του Ιησού ως ένα είδος προπασχάλιας χριστολογίας.

Konrad Hammann, "Die Entstehung von Bultmanns Jesus-Buch", 191-214
Στα γηρατειά του ο Bultmann θυμόταν ότι έγραψε το βιβλίο του για τον Ιησού πριν γνωρίσει τον Martin Heidegger. Ωστόσο, στο άρθρο ο συγγραφέας αποδεικνύει ότι ο Bultmann έγραψε αυτό το βιβλίο την άνοιξη του 1925 κι αφού ήδη είχε επικοινωνία με τον Heidegger για πολύ καιρό. Υπάρχουν ωστόσο μαρτυρίες για το διάλογο μεταξύ του θεολόγου και φιλοσόφου στο βιβλίο του Bultmann για τον Ιησού. Ωστόσο ο Bultmann είχε ήδη αναπτύξει τα κύρια στοιχεία της υπαρξιστικής ερμηνείας του ανεξάρτητα από το διάλογό του με τον Heidegger.

Ειδωλολατρικός βωμός του 1ου/2ου αι. μ.Χ. βρέθηκε στην Ashkelon / A pagan altar of the 1st/2nd c. AD was found in Ashkelon

Κατά τις εργασίες επιδιόρθωσης του νοσοκομείου Barzilai στην Ashkelon βρέθηκε ένας ειδωλολατρικός κυκλικός βωμός στολισμένος με βουκράνια, κλαδιά δάφνης και σταφύλια (βλ. φωτογραφία). Σύμφωνα με τους υπεύθυνους της ανασκαφής ο βωμός χρονολογείται στον 1ο ή 2ο αι. μ.Χ. Στην ίδια περιοχή βρέθηκαν επίσης οικογενειακοί και ατομικοί τάφοι και μία σαρκοφάγος, τα οποία δηλώνουν την ύπαρξη ενός κοιμητηρίου, που τώρα με τη βοήθεια του νέου ευρήματος μπορεί να θεωρηθεί ότι ανήκε σε εθνικούς. Ο κυκλικός βωμός ανήκει στην κατηγορία των βωμών προσφοράς θυμιάματος. Σύμφωνα με τον υπεύθυνο αρχαιοτήτων της Ashkelon Yigal Israel ο βωμός που βρέθηκε πρέπει να μεταφέρθηκε από την πόλη της Ashkelon στο κοιμητήριο.
