Ο συλλογικός τόμος Torah in the New Testament είναι μία συλλογή εισηγήσεων που διαβάστηκαν στο Manchester—Lausanne Seminar τον Ιούνιο του 2008. Ο τόμος περιέχει μελέτες και από ερευνητές των Πανεπιστημείων Sheffield, Geneva και Ben Gurion. Σκοπός του σεμιναρίου ήταν να προσφέρει κάποιες σημαντικές μελέτες στο γενικό θέμα της Τορά μέσα στην Καινή Διαθήκη με ιδιαίτερη αναφορά σε μεθοδολογικά ζητήματα, στις παραδόσεις για τον Ιησού στα ευαγγέλια και στον Παύλο και στο Νόμο.
Ήδη έχουν εκδοθεί δύο προηγούμενες συλλογές εισηγήσεων από αυτές τις ακαδημαϊκές συνεργασίες στην ίδια σειρά: C.M. Tuckett (ed.), Luke’s Literary Achievement: Collected Essays (LNTS 116, 1995) and T. Klutz (ed.), Magic in the Biblical World: From the Road of Aaron to the Ring of Solomon (LNTS 245, 2003). Η παρούσα συλλογή παρουσιάζει ενδιαφέρον για τους καινοδιαθηκολόγους οι οποίοι εμπλέκονται ενεργά στην έρευνα της σχέσης μεταξύ αρχέγονου Χριστιανισμού και Ιουδαϊκής Τορά. Περιέχει οξείς παρατηρήσεις σε ζητήματα μεθοδολογίας όσον αφορά στη συζήτηση για τον Ιησού και Νόμο και τον Παύλο και τον Νόμο. Από την εποχή της εργασίας του Sanders αλλά και άλλων στη δεκαετία του 80 του προηγούμενου αιώνα αυτά τα θέματα έχουν προκαλέσει το ενδιαφέρον των ερευνητών που προσπαθούν να παρουσιάσουν τον Ιησού, τον Παύλο και τον αρχέγονο Χριστιανισμό μέσα στην κατάλληλη ιουδαϊκή συνάφεια.
