Ανακάλυψη ενός ιερού της εποχής του Πρώτου Ναού / Discovery of a sanctuary from First Temple Era

Μία σημαντική αρχαιολογική ανακάλυψη δημοσιεύεται σε πρόσφατο τεύχος του Biblical Archaeology Review. Πρόκειται για ένα ιερό του 10ου αι. π.Χ. το οποίο αρχαιολόγοι έφεραν στο φως στην πόλη Motza, 4 χλμ ΒΔ της Ιερουσαλήμ. Ο ναός αυτός, λίγο μικρότερος από το Ναό του Σολομώντος στην Ιερουσαλήμ, φαίνεται πως λειτουργούσε παράλληλα με εκείνον και με την άδειά του. Με βάση κάποια ευρήματα από τον ίδιο αρχαιολογικό χώρο, οι αρχαιολόγοι εικάζουν ότι ο ναός φιλοξενούσε τη λατρεία κι άλλων θεοτήτων εκτός του Γιαχβέ. Οι ανασκαφές αναμένεται να συνεχίσουν το 2020-2021 κι οι ειδικοί εκφράζουν την ελπίδα ότι αυτές θα απαντήσουν σε αρκετά ανοικτά ερωτήματα σχετικά με αυτό το σημαντικό εύρημα:
