Μια αρχαιολογική ανακάλυψη στο θέατρο της αρχαίας Στρατονίκειας / An archaological discovery in the theatre of ancient Stratonikeia

Αρχαιολόγοι που εργάζονται στην ανασκαφή του ελληνιστικού θεάτρου της αρχαίας Στρατονίκειας έφεραν στο φως περίπου 17 ανάγλυφες παραστάσεις θεατρικών προσωπείων. Το σημαντικό αυτό εύρημα έχετε να προστεθεί στις 16 παρόμοιες παραστάσεις που είχαν βρεθεί παλαιότερα στον ίδιο χώρο. Φαίνεται πως διακοσμούσαν τη σκηνή του θεάτρου και κάποιες από αυτές αναπαριστούν θεότητες του ελληνορωμαϊκού κόσμου. Οι παραστάσεις των προσωπείων χρονολογούνται στην εποχή του Αυγούστου και κοσμούσαν το επιστύλιο της σκηνής που κατασκευάστηκε κατά την ίδια περίοδο. Δυστυχώς το δημοσίευμα στην ιστοσελίδα Αrchaeology News Network δε δίνει πολλές πληροφορίες για το νέο εύρημα, περιλαμβάνει όμως πολλές φωτογραφίες:
