Νέα βιβλικά σπαράγματα από την Οξύρυγχο / New biblical papyrus fragments from Oxyrhynchus

Η Egyptian Exploration Society ανακοίνωσε πρόσφατα στην ιστοσελίδα της ότι μεταξύ των ανέκδοτων σπαραγμάτων από την Οξύρρυγχο έχουν εντοπισθεί 20 περίπου πάπυροι με κείμενα της Καινής Διαθήκης, περισσότερα από 80 σπαράγματα από τη μετάφραση των Ο΄ και σχετικών κειμένων και περίπου 10 σπαράγματα με πατερικά αποσπάσματα. Το δημοσίευμα αφήνει ανοικτό ο αριθμός των ευρημάτων να αυξηθεί, καθώς συχνά τα μικρότερα σπαράγματα ταυτοποιούνται αργότερα και κατά τη διαδικασία έκδοσής τους. Σε κάθε περίπτωση κανένα από τα παραπάνω ευρήματα δεν είναι αρχαιότερο του τέλους του 2ου ή των αρχών του 3ου αι. μ.Χ.:

Michael H Floyd, "The Meaning of Maśśāʾ as a Prophetic Term In Isaiah"

In contrast with conventional etymological explanations of maśśā’ as a prophetic term, Richard Weis has proposed that this word refers to a genre whose definitive characteristic is the reinterpretation of an already promulgated prophecy. This article counters recent criticisms of Weis’s position and, using a simplified methodology, reaffirms his basic insight with regard to the maśśā’ texts in Isaiah.
