Στην ιστοσελίδα της International Catacomb society δημοσιεύεται ένα σύντομο απόσπασμα από το βιβλίο της Estelle Shohet Brettman, Vaults of Memory σχετικά με τα ιδιαίτερα χαρακτηριστικά των ιουδαϊκών επιγραφών που βρέθηκαν στις κατακόμβες της Ρώμης. Το κείμενο εστιάζει κυρίως στη γλώσσα των επιγραφών, στα ονόματα των νεκρών, στα συναισθήματα των νεκρών και των συγγενών τους και στις αξίες των ανθρώπων που κατασκεύασαν αυτά τα μνημεία.
