Ευάγγελος Θεοδώρου (1921-2018)

Εκοιμήθη ο ομότιμος καθηγητής των Θεολογικών Σχολών Θεσσαλονίκης και Αθηνών Ευάγγελος Θεοδώρου. Ο καθηγητής Θεοδώρου γεννήθηκε στο Αϊδίνιο το 1921, σπούδασε Θεολογία στην Θεολογική Αθηνών (1938-1943) και συνέχισε με μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές στο Marburg (1952-1953). Το 1954 αναγορεύτηκε διδάκτορας στη Θεολογική Σχολή Αθηνών και το 1959 εξελέγη υφηγητής στην ίδια Σχολή στην έδρα της Πρακτικής Θεολογίας. Δίδαξε ως τακτικός καθηγητής της Ομιλητικής και της Λειτουργικής στην Θεολογική Σχολή Θεσσαλονίκης (1961-1968) και στη συνέχεια ως τακτικός καθηγητής της Πρακτικής Θεολογίας στην Θεολογική Αθηνών (1969-1988). Δίδαξε σε διάφορα φροντιστήρια και σχολές και διετέλεσε κοσμήτορας των Θεολογικών Σχολών Θεσσαλονίκης και Αθηνών, αντιπρύτανης και πρύτανης του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Υπήρξε διευθυντής των περιοδικών Θεολογία, Εκκλησία και Εφημέριος. Ως η μεγαλύτερη συμβολή του θεωρείται το πρωτοπόρο και τολμηρό έργο του για την επανεργοποίηση του θεσμού των διακονισσών στην Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία, ενός θεσμού, ο οποίος ποτέ δεν καταργήθηκε, αλλά παραμένει ανενεργός εδώ και αιώνες. Όσοι τον γνωρίσαμε θυμόμαστε το πάθος και το νεανικό ενθουσιασμό με τον οποίο μιλούσε για το θέμα ακόμη και στα βαθιά γεράματά του. Ας είναι αιωνία η μνήμη του!
