Ένα νέο βιβλίο για την οικονομία και την Κ.Δ. / A new book on economics and NT

Κυκλοφόρησε από τον εκδοτικό οίκο Eerdmans ένα νέο πολύ ενδιαφέρον βιβλίο για την οικονομία και την Κ.Δ. Είναι γεγονός ότι τα εργαλεία των κοινωνικών επιστημών συχνά επιστρατεύθηκαν στην προσπάθεια ερμηνευτικής προσέγγισης του κειμένου της Κ.Δ. (κυρίως κατά τις τελευταίες δεκαετίες). Όπως όμως σημειώνουν και οι εκδότες του νέου αυτού συλλογικού τόμου σπάνια διερευνήθηκαν οι οικονομικές παράμετροι τόσο των κειμένων της Κ.Δ. όσο και της πρόσληψής τους από τη μετέπειτα χριστιανική πατερική παράδοση. Ο όρος "haElohim" στον Κώδικα της Διαθήκης / "haElohim" in the Covenant Code

Στην ιστοσελίδα The Bible and Interpretation έχει αναρτηθεί ένα σύντομο σχόλιο του Stephen Gabriel Rosenberg (W.F.Albright Institute of Archaeological Research, Ιερουσαλήμ) με θέμα τον όρο haElohim που απαντά στο λεγόμενο Κώδικα της Διαθήκης (Έξ 21-23). Ο συγγραφέας αναζητά παράλληλα των νόμων του Κώδικα, όπου απαντά ο όρος, σε νομικά κείμενα του περιβάλλοντος του Ισραήλ και καταλήγει στο συμπέρασμα ότι εδώ ο όρος δηλώνει τους "δικαστές" οι οποίοι απέδιδαν το δίκαιο στις πύλες της πόλεις. Ένας ραβίνος στο Βατικανό / A rabbi in Vatican

Στην ιστοσελίδα The Bible and Interpretation έχει αναρτηθεί ένα σύντομο κείμενο, όπου ο γνωστός ραβίνος και ειδικός στη ραβινική γραμματεία Jacob Neusner περιγράφει την πρόσφατη επίσκεψή του στο Βατικανό και τη συνομιλία του εκεί με τον ποντίφικα. Στα 2000 ο Neusner εξέδωσε το βιβλίο του A Rabbi Talks With Jesus. [A.T. ένα βιβλίο που αξίζει να το διαβάσει κανείς] όπου σύγκρινε το κήρυγμα του Ιησού για τη βασιλεία του Θεού με την αντίληψη της Τορά για τη σχέση του Ισραήλ με το Θεό. Ο πάπας ασχολείται με αυτό το βιβλίο στο έργο του Ο Ιησούς από τη Ναζαρέτ, όπου αφιέρωσε ένα κεφάλαιο στα ερωτήματα που έθεσε ο Neusner στο βιβλίο του. Aυτός ο γραπτός και αξιοπρεπής διάλογος είναι ίσως μία από τις λίγες στιγμές μέσα στην ιστορία του Χριστιανισμού που ένας πάπας διαλέγεται με έναν ιουδαίο ερευνητή και μάλιστα σχετικά με τον Ιησού.
