Στο άρθρο εξετάζεται η σύνθετη σχέση μεταξύ της καινοδιαθηκικής ερμηνείας, δηλαδή της θεολογικής ερμηνείας και της "θρησκειοϊστορίας" (ιστορία των θρησκειών, θρησκευτικές σπουδές). Μολονότι οι ιστορικές και θεολογικές οπτικές διαφέρουν μεταξύ τους από πολλές απόψεις, χρειάζονται και οι δύο για μία ερμηνευτική προσέγγιση ώστε να οδηγηθεί κανείς σε μία βαθύτερη κατανόηση του αρχέγονου Χριστιανισμού και των κειμένων του.

James M. Kennedy, Psalm 29 as Semiotic System: A Linguistic Reading

Σε αυτή τη μελέτη ο συγγραφέας αποπειράται να αναγνώσει τον Ψαλμό μέσα από ερμηνευτικό πρίσμα και τα συμπεράσματα της στρουκτουραλιστικής θεωρίας της Σχολής της Τσεχίας και τη φιλολογική θεωρία της ρωσικής Σχολής της Μορφής. Αυτές οι δύο οπτικές συμφωνούν ότι ένα ποιητικό έργο θα πρέπει αναλυθεί με βάση την αναλογία μίας στρουκτουραλιστικής προσέγγισης της μελέτης μίας γλώσσας. Ο συγγραφέας προτείνει μία ανάγνωση του Ψα 29, όπου η εσωτερική του δομή (Einstellung) δεν εκφράζει τόσο πολύ ποιο είναι το νόημα αλλά πώς αυτό εκφέρεται.
