Τα 50 χρόνια του Peshitta Project / The 50th Anniversary of Peshitta Project

Από το ιστολόγιο του Jim West πληρφοφορούμαστε τον εορτασμό των 50 χρόνων του Peshitta Project. Η εκδήλωση θα λάβει χώρα στις 18 Δεκεμβρίου 2009 στο Snouck Hurgronje House, Rapenburg 63, Leiden.

Το ερευνητικό πρόγραμμα για τη συριακή μετάφραση (Peshitta) γεννήθηκε το 1959, όταν η IOSOT (International Organization for the Study of the Old Testament) ζήτησε από τον καθηγητή P.A.H. de Boer να αναλάβει για λογαριασμό του πανεπιστημίου του Leiden to Peshitta Project. Στόχος ήταν η έκδοση της πρώτης κριτικής έκδοσης της συριακής μετάφρασης της Π.Δ. Ο αρχικός αυτός στόχος διευρύνθηκε κατά τη δεκαετία του '90 του προηγούμενου αιώνα. Σήμερα το Peshitta Institute συντονίζει την έκδοση ταμείου της Peshitta, τη μελέτη των βιβλικών παραθεμάτων στα συριακά υπομνήματα, μία αγγλική μετάφραση της Peshitta (The Bible of Edessa).

Διατριβή για το "Χωρισμό των δρόμων" / A new dissertation on the "Parting of the Ways"

Από το ιστολόγιο Polumeros kai Polutropos πληροφορούμαστε ότι έχει αναρτηθεί στο διαδίκτυο και είναι προσβάσιμη ηλεκτρονικά (στη μορφή pdf) μία διατριβή, που υποβλήθηκε στο πανεπιστήμιο του Groningen πριν ένα μήνα περίπου. Θέμα της είναι η σχέση της ρωμαϊκής διοίκησης με το λεγόμενο "Χωρισμό των Δρόμων" (Parting of the Ways) χριστιανών και Ιουδαίων κατά το τέλος του 1ου αι. μ.Χ.

Ο συγγραφέας της Marius Heemstra, υποστηρίζει ότι η συλλογή του fiscus judaicus (φόρου που επιβλήθηκε στους Ιουδαίους μετά την καταστροφή του 70) στα χρόνια του Δομιτιανού (81-96) και οι μεταρρυθμίσεις σχετικά με αυτόν επί αυτοκράτορα Νέρβα (96-98) επιτάχυναν τις διαδικασίες που είχαν ήδη αρχίσει χωρισμού των χριστιανών από τους Ιουδαίους.

Στο πρώτο μέρος της διατριβής ο συγγραφέας υποστηρίζει ότι πολλοί χριστιανοί κατέβαλαν αυτόν τον φόρο στα χρόνια του Δομιτιανού. Στο δεύτερο μέρος εξετάζονται τρία βιβλία της Κ.Δ.: η Αποκάλυψη, η προς Εβραίους και το κατά Ιωάννην. Ο συγγραφέας επικεντρώνει το ενδιαφέρον του στις εντάσεις που αποτυπώνονται μέσα σε αυτά τα κείμενα.

Τέλος υποστηρίζεται ότι σημείο-σταθμός αποτελεί η μεταρρύθμιση του fiscus judaicus από τον Νέρβα, το 96 μ.Χ., όταν εισάγεται πλέον ένας σαφέστερος ορισμός του "Ιουδαίου", κάτι που συνέβαλε στην καλύτερη διάκριση μεταξύ του Ιουδαϊσμού (religio licita της αυτοκρατορία) και του χριστιανισμού (που αντιμετωπιζόταν ως παράνομο θρησκευτικό κίνημα).

Ο τόμος είναι μία συλλογή των περισσοτέρων εισηγήσεων που διαβάστηκαν στη συνάντηση που έλαβε χώρα στο Καθολικό Πανεπιστήμιο του Leuven στο διάστημα 7-9 Νοεμβρίου 2006. Σε αυτές προστέθηκαν κάποια άρθρα που προέκυψαν από τις συζητήσεις της συνάντησης. Σκοπός της διεθνούς συνάντησης ήταν να συμβάλει στην καλύτερη κατανόηση της γλώσσας και του ύφους του τετάρτου ευαγγελίου σε σχέση μάλιστα προς τα συνοπτικά ευαγγέλια και να καταδείξει την ενότητά του όσον αφορά στο θέμα και στη γλώσσα. Οι ομιλητές εκφράζουν τις νέες τάσεις στην κατανόηση του κειμένου και της φύσης του τετάρτου ευαγγελίου.
