Δημοσιεύματα αναφέρουν τον εντοπισμό 9 κλειστών φυλακτηρίων από το Κουμράν, τα οποία για 60 χρόνια παρέμειναν ξεχασμένα στις αποθήκες της Αρχαιολογικής Υπηρεσίας του Ισραήλ (IAA). Τα φυλακτήρια περιείχαν μικρά χειρόγραφα με βιβλικά κείμενα.

Το σπάραγμα για τη σύζυγο του Ιησού / The fragment about Jesus' wife

Ο Larry Hurtado μεταφέρει σε μία σύντομη ανάρτηση στο ιστολόγιό του για τις εξελίξεις όσον αφορά στην υπόθεση του σπαράγματος που περιείχε απόσπασμα "ευαγγελίου" που έκανε μάλλον λόγο για τη σύζυγο του Ιησού. Σύμφωνα με τις πληροφορίες του το κείμενο της Karin King θα δημοσιευθεί σύντομα στο Harvard Theological Review. Παράλληλα έχει αναρτηθεί στο youtube το ντοκυμαντέρ του Smithsonian Channel στο οποίο παρουσιάζεται το ενδιαφέρον αυτό εύρημα (το ντοκυμαντέρ είναι στα γαλλικά).

Aναμένουμε λοιπόν με ενδιαφέρον το άρθρο της King στο HTR, το οποίο παρά τις δυσοίωνες εκτιμήσεις όσων εξέφρασαν τις αμφιβολίες τους για τη γνησιότητα του ευρήματος φαίνεται πως βρήκε το δρόμο για το τυπογραφείο.

'Η έρευνα έχει ασχοληθεί ιδιαίτερα με το βιβλίο των Θρήνων κατά την τελευταία δεκαετία προσεγγίζοντάς το με μεθόδους που κινούνται πέρα από τα όρια της παραδοσιακής ιστορικοκριτικής μεθόδου. Μολονότι η ιστορικοκριτική μέθοδος δεν έχει εγκαταλειφθεί, αναδύονται νέες τάσεις. Στο άρθρο εξετάζονται τα διαφορετικά πεδία έρευνας όσον αφορά στους Θρήνους και δίνεται μεγαλύτερη έμφαση στις φεμινιστικές, ψυχολογικές, θεολογικές, οικολογικές, μεταποικιακές προσεγγίσεις κι εκείνης της ιστορίας της πρόσληψης. Στο πρώτο, ωστόσο, μέρος η μελέτη παρουσιάζει το πλούσιο έργο της ιστορικοκριτικής μεθόδου όσον αφορά στο βιβλίο των Θρήνων και συζητά το κείμενό του και τις διάφορες εκδοχές του.

Στο άρθρο εξετάζονται οι εξελίξεις στην ακαδημαϊκή μελέτη της σχέσης της Βίβλου, της θρησκείας και της θρησκείας από το 2000 κι εξής. Ο συγγραφέας συζητά τον γνωστικό τομέα "της θρησκείας και του κινηματογράφου" και θέτει το ερώτημα εάν αυτός έχει αναπτυχθεί σε ένα πλήρες γνωστικό αντικείμενο στις θρησκειολογικές σπουδές. Επιπλέον, εξετάζονται κάποια αντιπροσωπευτικά κινηματογραφικά έργα τα οποία εμπλέκουν τη θρησκεία και την Βίβλο στην πλοκή τους και παρουσιάζονται οι σημαντικότερες μελέτες στο χώρο. Ο συγγραφέας καταλήγει ότι το ενδιαφέρον για τη σχέση θρησκείας και κινηματογράφου είναι ιδιαίτερα ισχυρή και παραγωγική και βρίσκεται σε εξέλιξη.

Υπάρχει αρκετή σύγχυση γύρω από τον όρο "διακειμενικότητα", ειδικότερα όσον αφορά τη χρήση του σήμερα στο χώρο των βιβλικών σπουδών. Μολονότι οι απαρχές αυτού του τεχνικού όρου αναφέρονται περιστασιακά από διάφορους ερευνητές, λίγοι φαίνεται να αντιλαμβάνονται τη σημασία τους. Στην παρούσα μελέτη ο συγγραφέας αναζητά τις μεταμοντέρνες απαρχές του όρου "διακειμενικότητα", δηλ. στην Julia Kristeva, και αναδεικνύει το πώς η χρήση του όρου σήμερα στις βιβλικές σπουδές δε συμφωνεί με την αρχική σημασία του όρου. Στο δεύτερο μέρος της μελέτης παρουσιάζεται το έργο του Richard Hays, ο οποίος γενικά θεωρείται ως ο πρώτος που εφάρμοσε τον όρο στις βιβλικές σπουδές, όταν μίλησε για την παρουσία της Παλαιάς Διαθήκης μέσα στην Καινή. Στο τελευταίο μέρος της ανάλυσης προτείνεται μία εναλλακτική που φαίνεται να είναι μία σαφέστερη λύση, έτσι ώστε η σύγχρονη χρήση του όρου να μην συγχέεται με την αρχική σημασία του όρου.

H σωτηριολογία του διπλού έργου του Λουκά, μολονότι διαδραματίζει σημαντικό ρόλο στη θεολογία του δίτομου έργου του, παραδοσιακά θεωρείται ατελής. Μολονότι το κατά Λουκάν και οι Πράξεις παρουσιάζουν την πραγματικότητα της σωτηρίας, γενικά υπάρχει η άποψη ότι δεν κάνουν ουσιαστικό λόγο για τα μέσα σωτηρίας. Τα τελευταία χρόνια, ωστόσο, υπάρχει μία αμφισβήτηση αυτής της παραδοσιακής θέσης. Γίνεται η προσπάθεια για μία περισσότερο ολιστική κατανόηση της σωτηρίας, εναλλακτικούς τρόπους κατανόησης της λύτρωσης και επαναδιατυπώσεις της ιστορίας της σωτηρίας όπως αυτή παρουσιάζεται στο διπλό έργο του Λουκά. Ο συγγραφέας ξεκινά από την παρουσίαση της σωτηρίας από τον Hans Conzelmann, η οποία στηρίζεται στην καθυστέρηση της παρουσίας και διερευνά την ανάπτυξη των ιδεών της σωτηριολογίας του Λουκά, όπως  είναι η ιστορία της σωτηρίας, η προοπτική της σωτηρίας, η εξιλέωση και η θεολογία του σταυρού. Eπειδή στο Εφ 4, 8 παρατίθεται μία διαφοροποιημένη εκδοχή του Ψα 68 (67), 19, οι ερμηνευτές έχουν διαμορφώσει διαφορετικές μεταξύ τους γνώμες όσον αφορά στις πηγές του συγγραφέα και τους τρόπους παράθεσης της ΠΔ, οι οποίες ξεκινούν από το ότι η παράθεση είναι ασυνήθιστη και καταλήγουν στο ότι αυτή συνοψίζει ολόκληρο τον ψαλμό. Στην παρούσα μελέτη υποστηρίζεται ότι οι διάφορες ερμηνείες δεν λαμβάνουν υπόψη τις αρχαίες πρακτικές παράθεσης ή τις ιουδαϊκές εξηγητικές διαδικασίες. Εξετάζονται βασικοί ερμηνευτές του 20ου και 21ου αιώνα και το ενδιαφέρον επικεντρώνεται στο ερώτημα ποιο μπορεί να ήταν το κείμενο που λαμβάνει υπόψη του ο συγγραφέας της επιστολής και ποια είναι η ερμηνευτική χρήση του Ψαλμού στο Εφ 4, 8. Καθίσταται σαφές ότι η κυρίαρχη τάση ερμηνείας του Εφ 4, 8 υιοθέτησε και προσάρμοσε μία (προ-) ταργκουμική ή πρώιμη χριστιανική παράδοση, κάτι το οποίο οδήγησε στην υποβάθμιση της χριστολογικής σημασίας του Εφ 4,8.

Για να απαντήσει στο ερώτημα ο συγγραφέας αξιοποιεί τα συμπεράσματα της φιλολογίας, της εβραϊκής επιγραφικής, της ιστορίας του Ιουδαϊσμού και της βιβλικής θεολογίας και προσπαθεί να καταδείξει ότι η Shema μαρτυρεί κι εκφράζει ελπίδα έχοντας υπόψη τις ποικίλες εκφάνσεις του Θεού του Ισραήλ.

O συγγραφέας υποστηρίζει ότι η Επί του Όρους Ομιλία προσφέρει μία διαφορετική εικόνα για την πρόνοια, η οποία δεν έχει ως σκοπό να εγγυηθεί έναν πλούσιο και σταθερό κόσμο. Ο αναγνώστης της καλείται να "επιζητήσει πρώτα την βασιλεία του Θεού και την δικαιοσύνη του". Με αυτήν την προτροπή προκρίνεται μία στάση ζωής που χαρακτηρίζεται από την ευγνωμοσύνη και η οποία δεν εξαντλείται στην έγνοια για την εξασφάλιση της τροφής και των ενδυμάτων. Χωρίς να αιτιολογεί μία τέτοια στάση η Επί του Όρος Ομιλία εμπεριέχει την απαίτηση και την υπόσχεση για ένα νέο τρόπο αντιμετώπισης του κόσμου με εμπιστοσύνη και ενεργή δράση.

Ο συγγραφέας εξετάζει τη σημασία της φράσης "Βασιλεία του Θεού" και σε άλλα σημεία του κατά Μάρκον, στην πηγή των Λογίων και στα τρία άλλα ευαγγέλια.
